Laying up the Old Standard

Old Standard
Founders
Earlier this year the RBL Chonburi Branch, changed its name to the RBL Thailand Branch. After some deliberation it was decided to lay the old Standard up at the British Club in Bangkok.
The previous Defence Attaché to the UK Embassy Bangkok, Col Roger & Mrs Kimberly Lewis kindly stepped up and donated the new Standard to the branch.

The new standard was commissioned on the 11/11/2022 at Don Rak war graves cemetery in Kanchanaburi by the Reverend Mathew Fitter, prior to the start of the annual RBL Thailand remembrance service.

The old standard was laid up on the 13/11/2022 and now has pride of place in the Churchill bar of the British Club, Bangkok, where it can be viewed by appointment. Among others in attendance was H.E. Mark Gooding, UK Ambassador, who unveiled the Standard, the Chairmen of the RBL Thailand Branch, Mr Robert Mann and British Club Mr Brian Brook, Mr Middy Campbell who had originally donated this standard and our present Standard Bearer Richard A Holmes.
